Stewart Rahr
Stewart Rahr was the owner of pharmaceutical and generics wholesaler Kinray, which was the largest [1] privately owned pharmaceutical distributor in the world. Kinray was bought out by Cardinal Health in 2010.[2]
Starting from his family-owned pharmacy business in Brooklyn, New York, Rahr expanded his business to a wholesale operation that served 4000 pharmacies in the Northeast, with revenues of over $5 billion.[3]
He is the largest individual Make-A-Wish donor in the world.[4] He is also noted for the house[5] he purchased in the Hamptons for $45 million,[6] reportedly the highest price ever paid in the state for a single-family home.[7]
According to Forbes, he is the 330th richest American, and 879th richest person in the world with an estimated worth of $1.4 billion in 2011. [8]
